NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS INVITES MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO EXPLORE THE WONDERS OF THE JERSEY SHORE AT ITS 22nd ANNUAL OCEAN FUN DAYS
05/08/2025 - For Immediate ReleaseWALL, N.J. – New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) invites customers, residents, families and members of the community to explore the wonders of the Jersey Shore during its 22nd annual Ocean Fun Days. The two-day event will be held on May 17, 2025, at Island Beach State Park in Seaside Park and May 18, 2025, at the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium in Sandy Hook from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Admission and parking are free.
Ocean Fun Days helps raise awareness about New Jersey’s coastal ecosystem as well as the importance of protecting it.
The event is free and filled with interactive activities for the entire family, including:
· Fiddler Crab Races
· Face Painting
· Seining
· Paddle board demonstrations
· Historical site tours
· And more!
Plus, attendees can learn from scientists, researchers and environmentalists about marine life and their habitats.
“Ocean Fun Days is the perfect way to kick off summer and celebrate the unique coastal environment many of us call home,” said Carolyn Cannon, director of Community Relations at New Jersey Natural Gas. "Through the immersive and fun-filled activities planned, people of all ages can connect with nature, learn about vital ecosystems and discover ways to be more sustainable.”
NJNG is pleased to hold this annual event alongside state and local agencies and organizations, including New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, Gateway National Park/National Park Service, New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry/Island Beach State Park, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Ocean Fun Days aligns with NJNG’s commitment to sustainability and the work of its Coastal Climate Initiative (CCI). Launched in 2021, CCI is an umbrella program for the company’s commitment to environmental and natural resource stewardship efforts. In 2023, the company pledged up to $2 million over five years from its charitable foundations to support environmental stewardship initiatives throughout its service territory.
