07/30/2025 - For Immediate Release

WALL, N.J.  – New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), the principal subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE:NJR), has been recognized as a Most Trusted Utility among residential customers, according to the 2025 Cogent Syndicated Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™: Residential study by Escalent, a leading advisory firm specializing in human behavior and data analytics.
.
With a Brand Trust score of 722, well above the industry average of 697, NJNG is among the top 40 natural gas and electric utilities in the country to receive this honor and be recognized for proactively providing customers with strong, reliable communication and customer service. This is the 11th time over the past 12 years the company has been recognized for brand trust among its customers.
.
“Being recognized as a most trusted utility is an honor that reflects more than just our commitment to provide exceptional service to customers,” says Marissa Travaline, vice president of Customer Service, Marketing and Energy Efficiency at New Jersey Natural Gas. “It’s a testament to the integrity and quality our employees deliver with every customer interaction, every single day as a reliable, trusted energy-solutions provider for families and businesses across New Jersey.”
.
Escalent conducted surveys among 61,086 residential electric, natural gas and combination utility customers of 148 largest utility companies in the U.S. The Brand Trust score is a composite based upon consumer ratings across six factors — customer focus, company reputation, community support, communications effectiveness, reliable quality and environmental dedication.
.
“The utility value proposition continues to evolve,” said Suzanne Haggerty, director of Syndicated Research with the Energy team at Escalent. “It’s not just about the bill amount. Value encompasses improved reliability, opportunities for savings, better customer service, ease of doing business and the utility’s active role in supporting the community — delivering a broader sense of fairness and value that customers recognize and appreciate.”
