NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS RANKS HIGHEST IN SEGMENT AMONG RESIDENTIAL AND BUSINESS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, ACCORDING TO J.D. POWER 2021 GAS UTILITY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION STUDIES

Wall, N.J. — For the seventh consecutive year, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), the principal subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), delivered award-winning customer satisfaction and ranked highest among the Large Residential Natural Gas Utilities in the East, according to the J.D. Power 2021 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Studysm. NJNG also ranked highest in customer satisfaction in the East Region of the J.D. Power 2021 Gas Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Studysm. Over the past 20 years, NJNG has been recognized 17 times* for its commitment to delivering outstanding satisfaction to its residential and business customers.

In the J.D. Power 2021 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, NJNG received an overall score of 793, more than 40 points above the segment average, and ranked number one among large gas utilities in the East Region, which includes New Jersey. The Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study measures the customer experience across six key factors — billing and payment, corporate citizenship, price, communications, customer service and safety and reliability. The company was also recognized for delivering the best in safety and reliability, billing and payment, corporate citizenship and price in the East Region of the J.D. Power 2021 Gas Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study.

The 2021 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from 60,096 online interviews conducted from January 2021 through October 2021 among residential customers of the 85 largest natural gas utility brands across the United States, which represent more than 62.9 million households.

The 2021 Gas Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from more than 8,980 online interviews of business customers in decision-making roles related to their utility company. The study was fielded in two waves: January through April 2021 and May through September 2021.
