NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS SUPPORTS LOCAL SUSTAINABLE ENERGY PROJECTS TO HELP MUNICIPALITIES AND SCHOOL DISTRCTS LOWER ENERGY COSTS, EMISSIONS

03/18/2022 - For Immediate Release

Wall, N.J., March 18, 2022 – For the 10th year, New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) is working with Sustainable Jersey® to provide local school districts and municipalities within its service territory with free, technical assistance on evaluating, planning and implementing energy-efficiency projects – with the potential for cost savings and greenhouse gas emission reductions. Through support from NJNG, Sustainable Jersey pairs fellows, typically MBA or similar-level graduates, from the Environmental Defense Fund’s (EDF) Climate Corps program with participating Sustainable Jersey municipalities and school districts for a 10-week period over the summer.

“As part of our commitment to sustainability and climate goals, New Jersey Natural Gas is driving energy-efficiency solutions that can help reduce usage, lower costs and help curb greenhouse gas emissions for all of our customers,” said Anne-Marie Peracchio, managing director of Marketing and Energy Efficiency for New Jersey Natural Gas. “Through the Climate Corp Fellows program, towns and schools in our service territory will benefit from this unique opportunity to receive no-cost, in-depth guidance and insights to help them achieve their sustainability goals.”

To qualify, applicants must be located within NJNG’s service territory and registered with Sustainable Jersey. As many as eight total school districts and municipalities will be selected to participate. Applications are due by midnight, April 6, 2022.
