NJR HOME SERVICES HELPS MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR NEW JERSEY’S DISABLED VETERANS

07/19/2021 - For Immediate Release

WALL, N.J. – In recognition of the service and sacrifice of the women and men of the U.S. military, NJR Home Services (NJRHS), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), announced it raised $14,600 to help disabled veterans in New Jersey.

In partnership with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and in honor of the organization’s 100th anniversary, NJRHS committed to donate $100 for every air conditioning (AC) system installed between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. From May 31 to July 4, 2021, NJRHS completed a total of 146 AC installations. The donation to DAV will help provide needed support and services to disabled veterans throughout New Jersey, including transportation to medical appointments and assistance with benefit claims.

“Many of our employees, family members and customers are veterans,” said Tom Massaro, President, NJR Home Services. “This is our way to show our support and share our appreciation for all those who served in our nation’s military.”

As one of the country’s premier veterans’ charities, DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. DAV provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families, helping over 1 million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year.  With more than 1,200 chapters nationwide – and 45 in New Jersey – DAV connects veterans to the full range of benefits available to them, free of charge.

“DAV is grateful for our partnership with NJRHS,” said DAV National Adjutant and CEO Marc Burgess. “These donations are a special way to recognize 100 years of service and sacrifices from our nation’s veterans.”

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are over 18 million veterans in the U.S. with approximately 322,000 in New Jersey. About 29% of all veterans, and nearly 16% of veterans in the state have a disability.

“DAV is a tremendous organization and the work they do can be life-changing for our veterans and their families,” Massaro continued. “We look forward to continuing to support our nation’s heroes and work with DAV in the future.”

For more than two decades, NJRHS has been providing homeowners across New Jersey with high quality appliance and installation services. With more than 6,000 5-star reviews, today it is one of the most-trusted HVAC service and sales companies in the state. With its team of trained technicians and licensed professionals, NJRHS provides customers with home comfort solutions, including equipment sales and installations; solar lease and purchase plans and heating, cooling, water heating, electric, and standby generator contracts.
