NEW JERSEY NATURAL GAS APPOINTS KATHLEEN F. KERR VICE PRESIDENT – MARKETING AND CUSTOMER SERVICES
12/20/2004 - For Immediate Release

WALL, N.J. – New Jersey Natural Gas, the principal subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NYSE: NJR), today announced the appointment of Kathleen F. Kerr as vice president – marketing and customer services, effective January 2005. Since 2002, Ms. Kerr has served as director – customer services for Newark, N.J.-based Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), one of the largest combined electric and gas companies in the United States.

“We’re delighted to have Kathleen join our team,” said Laurence M. Downes, chairman and CEO of NJNG. “Her extensive knowledge and public utility experience will be of tremendous benefit as we continue to build on our solid customer growth rate, excellent record of customer satisfaction and reliable support for our communities,” Mr. Downes said.

Prior to her post as director – customer services, Ms. Kerr held several positions with PSE&G, including project manager – external affairs and project manager – delivery client services. Her career with PSE&G also involved other positions in customer services including manager – customer inquiry for PSE&G’s 24-hour customer call center operations and district manager – customer services in PSE&G’s Roseland and East Gate districts.

In 2002, Ms. Kerr attended the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. Ms. Kerr received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University in 1985. She resides in Howell, N.J.
